Asia Pacific Arthroplasty Association

The establishment of the Asia Pacific Association of Arthroplasty was a step of a group of Orthopedic arthroplasty surgeons with an objective of excellence on the advancement in the field of arthroplasty   in 1997. The Association consist of eminent experts who share their updates regarding the advancement and enhancement in the field of arthroplasty. Wui k Chong is the founding chairman of the Association and Rey Randle elected as a first president of the society. Mr Ram Sorial is the current president of the Association.  The Association was established in 1998 and the registered office of association is in Sanctuary Cove (Australia). The first Scientific Annual Meeting of APAS was held at Delhi, India and more than 600 hundred eminent persons around the world who share their knowledge and experience on a same platform. The aims of the society are to fostering the social and scientific exchange in Asian region and provide a forum in the form of colloquy for the Asian surgeons to share their experiences and to deliver technically, scientifically and academically best result to their patients. An additional arm of the society known as Delta Foundation was created as a separate entity which provides a seminar in the form of practical knowledge on surgery technique and the science of arthroplasty pivoted on live surgical demonstrations with open forum case discussions. The objective of the association is to fostering the science of joint replacement surgery through education, scientific meeting and research. The elucidation from the events of the association gives benefit to the persons related to this field. The recent 17th Annual Scientific Meeting of the Society was held from 25 August 2016 to 28 August 2016 in Penang, Malaysia.

There are numerous Arthroplasty societies worldwide, both national and international. However, Asia Pacific Arthroplasty Association. Arthroplasty, a type of surgical procedure used in Orthopedic field. Association stands out to be one of the most renowned societies in Asia pacific region.  Some of These societies are working on specific topics such as Arthroplasty, Exercise and Sports Medicine, Joint Disorders, Medical Malpractice and Legal Issues, Methicillin-Resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA), Osteoporosis, Pain Management, Rheumatoid Arthritis, and Spinal Disorders etc. Some of the Orthopedic Societies in different parts of the world are as follows:


American Orthopedic Societies : USA is considered to be the hub of research. There are several societies working on different field, out of which almost 70 USA Orthopedic Societies and associations are present.  Some of the major Associations are American Association of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS), The American Orthopedic Association, The American Orthopaedic Foot & Ankle Society (AOFAS),   Pediatric Orthopedic Society of North America, International Society of Orthopaedic Centers (ISOC) etc. These societies and association are located in Tennessee, Illinois, Colorado, New York etc.

European Orthopedic Societies : More than 90 Orthopedic Societies in Europe are contributing towards Orthopedic research activities through their annual congress, journal and newsletters. Some of the major Associations are European Academy of Allergy and Clinical Orthopedic, European Orthopaedic Research Society, European Federation of National Associations of Orthopaedics and Traumatology (EFORT), European Society for Sports Traumatology, Knee Surgery and Arthroscopy, European Paediatric Orthopedic Society etc. Majority of these European Orthopedic Societies and Associations are located in Spain, Luxembourg, France, Switzerland, Austria, The Netherlands and Italy.

Asia-Pacific Orthopedic Societies :  There are almost 50 Asian Orthopedic Societies working for the welfare of humankind. Some of the major Associations are: Asia Pacific Orthopaedic Association (APOA), Chinese Orthopedic Association, Orthopaedic National Associations of Australia, Bangladesh, China, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Myanmar, New Zealand, Pakistan, Philippines, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Taiwan, Thailand, Turkey and Vietnam etc. These Orthopedic societies were established in different time periods by eminent Orthopaedists and scientists and dedicated persons working in this field.

Middle East Orthopedic Societies : In Middle East almost 15 Orthopedic Associations are present. These societies are organizing annual and biannual Neurology Annual Conferences in Iran, Egypt, Israel, Lebanon, Turkey, Jordan and Saudi Arabia. Some of the major Associations are Turkish Society of Orthopaedics and Traumatology (TOTBID), Saudi Orthopaedic Association, Lebanese Orthopaedic Association (LOA), Jordan Orthopedic Association (JOA), Israel Orthopaedic Association and Iranian Orthopaedic Association (IOA) etc.  Orthopedic Societies in Middle East are involved with Research, surgical and clinical practice as well.

 Orthopedic Societies Conferences : There are almost 170 Orthopedic Meetings and conferences which are scheduled by these societies for the year 2016 and 2017 in different parts of the globe. These International Orthopedic Conferences and Orthopedic Annual Meetings are intended to bring together all the recent researches, new innovations and findings in a global platform.
